$400,000 – $600,000: In this price range, you can find a good starter home in Loring Heights. It will typically be a 1940s cottage, usually with 2 but sometimes 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom (sometimes 2). These homes normally have hardwood floors and a fireplace. Depending on the price they may have some level of renovation. The majority of homes do not have covered parking in this neighborhood. The lot sizes are usually quite generous.

These homes, especially at the higher end of this price point will generally be renovated and may include an upstairs addition. There is a small but ever increasing amount of new construction in this neighborhood at this price point as well –– typically a 2-story frame home (some with garage). There is a wonderful duck pond in the middle of the neighborhood and one will pay a premium for a house overlooking this pond. It is quite a hilly neighborhood so lot sizes and shapes vary.
